Our Parish has the privilege of hosting a troop right here in Fleming Island. These young boys are starting out on the right track to become strong Christian men! Please see our separate Trail Life page for additional information.
Bible Study & Catechesis
Christians are called to grow in the Faith. Bible studies and catechesis are means by which we grow deeper. Scripture is integral to the Anglican tradition. Everything comes from it, so we take it seriously so we can live it faithfully. Catechesis is instruction in the Faith. It helps us understand the doctrines of our church so we can practice it fully. Please join us at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesdays for Bible study and on select Sundays after mass for catechesis. Contact Fr. Beutell for more information.
Choir
Music is an integral part of Anglican worship. Many of the great hymns of the Western Church come from our tradition. Our choir is always interested in adding more members. If interested, please talk with Laurie McDonogh.
Altar Servers & Lay Readers
Throughout the Church’s history, lay men and boys have assisted the clergy at the altar and in prayer services. In our tradition:
Lay Readers are men are trained and licensed by the Bishop to lead the Morning and Evening Prayer offices and read approved sermon.
Lectors are men who read the Epistle lesson at mass.
Altar Servers are men (or boys that have received Confirmation) that carry the processional cross (Crucifer) or candle (Torch Bearer) or assist the priest preparing the altar (Acolytes) at mass.
Those interested in serving in any of these roles may contact Fr. Beutell.
Altar Guild
The Eucharist is at the core of our lives. It is a privilege to serve on the Altar Guild because when you do this, you are helping to prepare the table where Christ will be given to us in the Sacrament of the Eucharist. Please speak to Sue Krall for more information.
Flower Guild
Beauty is important in worship. The space and the appointments used enhance our ability to draw near to God. Altar flowers are an integral part of this beautification. On appointed Sundays women from our parish arrange and set flowers besides the altar to beautify the sanctuary. Please see Laurie McDonagh if you’d like to assist.
Society of Mary
Honoring the Mother of Jesus is an aspect of our faith. This devotion is not required. The Society meets on the second Saturday of each month at 10:30 AM. If you are interested, please contact Father Beutell.
